LOCATION

Ataşehir is one of the most central Asian districts in Istanbul. It is surrounded by five different districts: Kadıköy to the southwest, Üsküdar to the west, Ümraniye to the north, Sancaktepe to the east, and Maltepe to the southeast. It has two of the great land routes in the city that connects the Asian and European sides together through two bridges to the south of the strait. Although Ataşehir does not have a coast of its own its surrounded by districts with perfect waterfronts and transportation to anyone of these places is rather simple. Ataşehir is the up and coming financial heart of Istanbul. It was not really inhabited by many people even a hundred years ago when the region was a huge farmstead. Even until 1988 when the Fatih Sultan Mehmed Bridge was completed there was not much of an infrastructure here. After the opening of the bridge and the consequent building of roads leading in and out of it Ataşehir was left in the middle of an extensive road network, suitable for business and habitation alike. 1999 Earthquake also made many people migrate to this region which was thought to be safer and after 2002 building projects were even more extensive. In short, one can call Ataşehir an extremely new part of Istanbul even though its name in Turkish suggests that it is the “father of cities”. HOUSING MARKET DESCRIPTION

Since Ataşehir is home to many malls, offices, and companies, there are not actually a huge amount of land left for actual housing thus the real estate prices maybe a little higher than expected.
